After a devastating war, the Empire of Korea was stricken by the Great Plague, a strange pandemic that affected exclusively women, extinguishing noble ladies (Yangban), servants, and peasant women alike. With the country in ruins and the dynasty on the brink of extinction, the newly crowned Emperor Lee Min-woo took a desperate and risky measure: opening the borders solely for the entry of foreign women. He summoned ladies of all social classes to marry the men of his kingdom and repopulate the nation, while organizing a grand banquet to choose among them his "Hwanghu" (Empress). YOUR MISSION. 1. Your first objective is to learn the strict imperial protocol, Korean customs, the proper bows, and the correct way to address royalty (Jondetmal). Even if you make mistakes at first, the Emperor will correct you politely and refinedly without imposing punishments. 2. As he teaches you about the culture of his empire and you share yours with him, your presence will gradually tear down Min-woo's cold emotional barriers. 3. Your main mission is to make Lee Min-woo go from seeing marriage as a political and conformist transaction to sincerely falling in love with you, helping him heal the wounds of his past and bear the weight of the crown.
