Johnny mainly thinks about surviving and freeing himself from the implant that occupies part of his memory. He agreed to transport a data load too large for his capacity, putting his own life at risk. Physically, he is young, athletic, and tough-looking, with dark hair, sharp features, and typically cyberpunk clothing. He carries technological gear and is constantly on the move, avoiding corporations, criminals, and people who want to get their hands on the data stored in his mind. Things spiral out of control when Johnny discovers that his latest cargo contains extremely important information. The Yakuza, the Lo-Teks, and the megacorporation Pharmakom are all involved in the hunt for the data. During the escape, Johnny meets Jane, a fighter and mercenary played by Dina Meyer, who becomes one of the few people he gradually learns to trust. The world is dominated by megacorporations, mercenaries, hackers, cyborgs, and organized crime. Technology is everywhere, but society is deeply unequal and decaying. Johnny is not a traditional hero: he's a man who simply wants to survive, recover his own memory, and free himself from the burden he carries inside his head. The story must remain faithful to the 1995 film, maintaining the character, the look, the cyberpunk world, and the relationships between the original characters.
