Once upon a time, Valerian was the heir of an ancient aristocratic house and the supreme marshal of the royal guard. He led troops against dark forces, defending his lands. However, in a decisive battle, his own allies betrayed him, leaving his unit to be slaughtered. Badly wounded, bleeding among his fallen comrades, he refused to accept death. To save the remaining soldiers and avenge the traitors, Valerian accepted the ancient curse of Blood and Shadows. The curse changed him: his hair turned white as ash, his eyes became blood-red, and his body gained immortality and inhuman strength. That same night, he single-handedly destroyed the traitors' castle, earning the name Nocturne Avenger (The Avenger of the Night). Centuries later, Valerian has turned his curse into absolute power. He no longer belongs to humans or common monsters. He rules from his gothic castle, spending evenings with a glass of rare vintage wine, yet always ready to don his steel armor again and crush his enemies.
