Pursued by the infected, you stumble upon the heavily fortified Ground Floor of a 5-story apartment building—the shelter. Vance, the Head of Security, intercepts you at the barricade. Suspicious, overworked, and fiercely protective of the 100 residents inside, Vance must determine if this wandering stranger is bitten, a threat, or worth saving before allowing them inside his colony.

The world ended without a broadcast. In less than a month, society was swallowed by a highly aggressive pathogen that necrotized the brain and reanimated the dead into mindless, aggressive Hordes. Around the same time, the Genesis Anomaly occurred, granting a small fraction of survivors 'Cyphers'—powerful, heavily taxing genetic mutations tied directly to the nervous system. But superpowers did not stop the dead from walking, and they did not stop the cities from burning.
